Intimacy with God – Do You Make This Your Key Priority in Life?

Intimacy with God – Do You Make This Your Key Priority in Life?

Tap into the Great Power Source and Change Your Outlook!

intimacy with GodIntimacy with God is a great power source in life.

Unfortunately, the natural thing for most of us to do…

is become absorbed in our day-to-day problems and demands.

On any given day, many people face stressful situations,

extreme trials, and even heartbreaks with marriages,

family members, or friends.

All this tends to keep the focus on self.

Learning to Look Beyond

When we learn to look beyond the trials and obstacles and fix our eyes on Jesus, and believe God is Sovereign, we will begin to have a different perspective and response to everything we face. The Bible teaches us that God uses all things, even the painful things, for the good of believers. One of the positive results of trials is the intimacy that can develop when we turn to the Lord for help.

“We know all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.”
— Romans 8:28

Intimacy with God – A Key Priority

God desires an intimate, loving relationship with us, and we should make this relationship our TOP priority. Intimacy with God begins with turning to Him and humbling ourselves before Him. It involves regular time in His Word, time in prayer, and patiently waiting for Him to speak to our hearts.

As we develop a deeper relationship with the Lord, we will understand that every hardship has a purpose. We have lessons to be learned and maturity to be gained. And remember, God has promised to meet the needs of His children, if they come to Him, seek Him diligently, and obey Him.

We can’t live above our circumstances in our own strength, but we certainly can by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Steps for a Closer Walk with the Lord

One – Give God the daily worship He deserves because of who He is and His finished work on the cross. Let Him know you love Him.

Two – Take time to confess all known sin; knowing that if you do, God is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

Three – Give thanks regularly to God for all He has done in your life and in your world.

Fourth – Take time to pray daily and ask God to supply your needs.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
— Philippians 4:6

What’s stopping you? Why not tap into the great power source in life? For each of us, our priority in life should be intimacy with God.

May you continually walk closer to the Lord and live a life of growing prosperity!

God bless you always –

Cheers,
Brenda

The Secret of the LORD – Discover the Key to the Treasures of Life!

The Secret of the LORD – Discover the Key to the Treasures of Life!

Do You Fear the LORD?

Secrets are something we all have and not all secrets are bad. We share our secrets with those who are in close relationship with us and who we can trust. God has some secrets He would like to share with those who are in an intimate relationship with Him.

How do we enter into an intimate relationship with God?

Fear of God is the starting point to having an intimate relationship with Him.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7

Knowledge Is KeyIt seems that many Christians call Jesus their Lord and Savior but they don’t fear Him with a holy fear that acknowledges He is their supreme Lord.

People tend to love a distorted image of Jesus that they create with their own imagination and understanding.

Don’t be fooled, a lack of holy fear separates us from intimacy with God.

How do you obtain this necessary fear of the Lord? (Proverbs 2:1-5)

1) Receive the Word of God.  “My son, if you will receive my words, …”

2) Hide His Commandments in You.  “… And hide my commandments with you; …”

3) Incline Your Ear to Wisdom.  “… So that you incline your ear unto wisdom, …”

4) Apply Your Heart to Understanding.  “… and apply your heart to understanding; …”

5) Cry Out For Knowledge & Discernment.  “… Yes, if you cry after knowledge, and lift up your voice for understanding; …”

6) Seek it and Search as You Would for Hidden Treasures.  “… If you seek her as silver, and search for her as hidden treasures; then shall you understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.”

The fear of the LORD is the key to Unlock His Treasures.

Fear of the Lord is the key that unlocks His treasures in our lives.

“And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of your times, and strength of salvation; the fear of the LORD is the key to this treasure.” — Isaiah 33:6

God desires that we draw near to Him, but this is impossible without a holy fear. It is not about being scared of God. The person who fears God has nothing to hide because he knows his life is an open book before God. He puts God’s desires before the desires of himself and others.

How does God know if we fear Him?

We obey Him. Evidence of a holy fear is obedience to God’s commandments.

The Secret of the LORD is with Those Who Fear Him

“The secret of the LORD is with them that fear Him; and He will show them His covenant.” Psalm 25:14

A holy fear of the Lord produces unconditional obedience in our hearts and lives. The Lord is drawn to those who fear Him and He works in them both to will and to do His good pleasure. Those that fear the Lord enjoy his secret and treasures.

May you draw near to God as He draws near to you and experience a life of growing prosperity!

God bless you,
Brenda

Faith in the Blood of Jesus

Faith in the Blood of Jesus Video

There is Power in the Blood

“Faith in His blood is the power and the vehicle that launches the believer into the very presence of God.”  Mark Hankins

I ran across this old song the other day and wanted to share.

“There is not one thing in me that the Blood doesn’t cleanse.”  Smith Wigglesworth

“…The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin, 1 John 1:7. The blood in your body circulates from head to toe every 23 seconds. The blood carries life itself. It carries in the nutrients you need to live and it also carries out the garbage. The blood of Jesus circulates throughout the Body of Christ. We need one another. We need to be assembled together and we need to fellowship with other believers (Hebrews 10:25). There is some assembly required. I feel sorry for people who think they can make it on their own. We need other strong believers to fellowship with around the Word of God. Then the blood of Jesus circulates and takes care of life and health for us.”  Excerpt from Mark Hankins book Taking Your Place In Christ.

The subheading of his book is Understanding Your Identity & Inheritance In Him. I’ve been studying a lot of Mark Hankins teachings since his recent visit to our church a few weeks ago. He has a great way of mixing humor with his messages that are really powerful! I highly recommend checking out his resources…

What Gives Us the Right to Enter God’s Presence?

What Gives Us the Right to Enter God’s Presence?

We enjoyed guest ministers, Mark and Trina Hankins, last night at our church. They’ll actually be ministering to us three nights in a row.

They taught on what seems to be a taboo message that freaks people out a little. And frankly, I think the only reason that is, is because it’s not talked about enough. The blood of Jesus.

Mark Hankins taught on the things connected and associated with the power that is available in the blood that Jesus paid on the cross. His main reference was in Hebrews 10:19-22 and how because of the blood we can boldly access the throne of God.

We have boldness to enter into the Holiest by the blood of Jesus. Hebrews 10:19

The price Jesus paid covers more than forgiveness & our salvation. The blood also pays for freedom from a sin consciousness and freedom from the curse (such as poverty, sickness, and depression). Our faith in the blood is the currency that pays for these freedoms.

What Christ did is perfect and the blood alone has done everything. Perfect.

But our access to it (which is by faith) can be imperfect.

In the Old Testament only the high priest was able to enter the throne room and he did it in fear. We now have a better covenant and not only have access to the Holiest, but we are told to go boldly.

Our conscious (inner voice, reminding us of past sins) can shut down our heart and keep us from entering into the presence of God. Our heart needs to be open to fully move into His presence.

It’s the blood of Jesus and the Holy Spirit working together that opens up our heart and has a magnetic like pull to take us into the presence of God.

Hebrews 10:22 tells us to draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith.

Have unshakeable assurance that God, our Father, is eager to see us. When we show up He is happy to see us.  :0) He wants to fellowship with us!

God wants us to draw near to him, but we have to do the “drawing near”. Mark Hankins reminded us that God has not moved. We are the ones who have drawn back.

We are to go boldly to the throne of God to obtain mercy and grace for help in time of need (Heb 4:16). If we don’t get bold and go, we’ll continue to carry our own burdens. And we have to be bold; because the devil is doing everything he can to distract us!

Like any will, that is only available to the inheritors after a death, God’s will in the New Testament became available after the death of Jesus.

The apostle Paul says that as believers we have a massive inheritance! Everything He gave to Jesus is ours. Equal possession with equal position.

If the enemy can hinder us to take our position, he can take our possession.

You have to take your position to take your possession and prosper. Open your heart to the fellowship of the Father. And don’t be satisfied with an intellectual relationship.

God is our Father. He wants and desires us to come to Him. He wants to fellowship and have a close relationship with us. And because of the price Jesus paid we have the right to be in the presence of God.

How do we know if we have been in His presence? If we have joy.

You cannot access His presence without being changed and come out with joy. In His presence is the fullness of joy!

I pray that we all may purpose to spend more time in His life changing presence!

God bless you,
Brenda
