Passion With A Purpose

Passion with a Purpose

Passion with a PurposePassion is less and less talked about these days.

It has been replaced with the idea that

we have to simply accept whatever current

situation life presents us with at the moment.

There is less and less encouragement,

and more and more discouragement,

when it comes to discovering our individual God-given passions.

This is disappointing because our God-given passions have been given to us with a purpose.

Passion with a Purpose

What does passion mean to you?

That was the question Christian author Deborah Bateman asked readers in an article published at LivingBetterAt50.com.

She also asked several other questions like “what do you love?” and “what would you do if no one paid you anything?”

Deborah gives the encouragement to “Discover what you love and do it!”

And she goes on to say…

“I hope you discover your passion, because when you do you get so much joy out of it. Don’t get me wrong, it is still work. Sometimes you may get tired or frustrated, but when you love something you keep coming back to it. No one has to prompt you to do it. You do it because that is what you love.” (read entire article here)

Deborah H. Bateman is a Christian author of multiple books including “Finding Our Identity in Christ.”

Have You Tapped Into Your God-given Passion?

The Bible gives us many warnings about the passions of a sinful nature and the need to keep them under control. A powerful way to do this is to keep the first and primary passion of our heart toward God and His Word.

“The passion of my soul’s desire is for the house of the Lord; my heart and my flesh are crying out for the living God.”
Psalm 84:2 (BBE)

The passion of Christ is the ultimate example of passion with a purpose. It was not only a passion with a purpose, but a purpose in line with God’s will, and a passion that came with a price.

“To whom also He showed Himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.”
Acts 1:3

Have you discovered your passion? It is worth discovering – even if it comes with a price. It will put a spark in your life, energize you and give you a positive drive to move forward, and a zeal to strive toward success. Why? Because your God-given passions come with a purpose, line up with God’s Word, and cause you to be a blessing to others!

May you tap into your God-given passion and live with a purpose and a life full of growing prosperity!

Be Blessed to Be a Blessing!

God bless you always,
Brenda

You Are My Shield – Psalm 119:114 Christian Meditation

“You Are My Shield”

You are my shield

“You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in Your Word.” — Psalm 119:114 NIV

“I hate double-minded people,
but I love your law.
You are my refuge and my shield;
I have put my hope in your word.
Away from me, you evildoers,
that I may keep the commands of my God!
Sustain me, my God, according to your promise, and I will live;
do not let my hopes be dashed.
Uphold me, and I will be delivered;
I will always have regard for your decrees.
You reject all who stray from your decrees,
for their delusions come to nothing.
All the wicked of the earth you discard like dross;
therefore I love your statutes.
My flesh trembles in fear of you;
I stand in awe of your laws.”
Psalm 119:113-120

This book was published late February 2012 and is now available for purchase as an ebook and print book.

I discovered that there is a lot of confusion, and many questions when it comes to the topic of Christian Meditation. Yet, God makes is very clear in the Bible that –

YES, Christians need to Meditate His Word!

So let’s get started clearing up the confusion. I’m sure you too have had some of the same questions included in this book…and I trust the answers will help open the eyes of your heart, as they did mine, to the mind and life-transforming power of meditating the living Word of God!

I originally addressed and wrote these Christian Meditation questions and answers, in December 2009. I published them online individually as articles and also as an email series.

Growing Prosperity: Focus on Being A Blessing!

Growing Prosperity: Focus on Being A Blessing!

The Power of Flowing Prosperity

Growing Prosperity - Focus on Being a Blessing!Growing prosperity is an ever-increasing

manifestation of God’s abundance in our lives.

God desires that we prosper and

He is pleased when His blessings are

flowing through our lives.

A key here is “flowing through.”

Prosperity doesn’t come into our lives only to bless us personally. The reason we are blessed is to be a blessing. The prosperity that comes into our lives is meant to be shared and flow through our lives to bless others.

You see, when the prosperity stops with “me,”  it also stops growing. In order to get, we have to give. The “miracle” happens when the heart of our focus is upward and outward and we purpose to make our lives a blessing to God and others.

A DESTRUCTIVE FOCUS

Sadly, the main focus in today’s society is on self. The majority of people are primarily concerned about how they will benefit themselves and how their own lives will improve. Masses of people are self absorbed and have an attitude of “What’s in it for me?”

The catch here is that these people are, usually unknowingly, participating in self-destructive behavior. This self-focus hinders prosperity and at the same time encourages poverty and lack.

The good news is that we have the option to change our focus, and change our future. We can choose to adjust our focus and begin to see growing prosperity in all areas of our lives.

A POSITIVE FOCUS – BE A BLESSING

Powerful forces are unleashed when we focus on the positive, and focus on being a blessing. And keep in mind: this is not in reference to the financial realm only, but all areas of life; spiritually, physically, and financially.

The following areas of focus are meant to help give some insight and direction in keeping a positive focus:

Focus on GIVING – Not Getting

God gave so we can give. None of the gifts and blessings we receive should be self absorbed. Nothing we have is meant to be hoarded. We are told to be good stewards over all that has been given to us. Giving and sharing is a basic elementary principle. We are blessed to be a blessing. And the great thing is, when we give we receive and prosperity continues to flow through our lives.

“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over.”
— Luke 6:38

Focus on Serving Others

God gave us family and friends, and our relationships come with the responsibility to help one another. Of course we all have needs, but the trouble starts when we put our focus on our own personal needs not being met. Soon frustration, bitterness, and anger creeps in because of what another person is not doing. But our focus needs to be on “What can I do to help meet their need?” and not on what they can do to meet mine.

Initially this doesn’t seem to make sense and you’re probably asking “How then will my needs get met?”  Well the first thing to keep in mind is that we can’t change another person, we can only change ourselves. And when we focus on meeting the needs of others, our lives have purpose, our love grows, our trust in God grows, and ironically we find our greatest needs met.

When our focus is on meeting the needs of others and trusting God to meet ours, we also live with a great sense of peace.

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 4:6-7

Focus on Living Life with a Positive Purpose

Life is short. We should live with a purpose to be positive, godly examples and good stewards over the time we are given. It is important to be a life-long student and teacher; always learning and always passing on that knowledge. Ultimately, teaching others how to teach.

“That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children.”
— Psalm 78:6

Empower your communication with purpose and be a blessing in words. Much of our communication today lacks power because it lacks purpose.

Focus on Love

Live life with a purpose to do all things in love. Let love be a primary focus and measure of giving. Remember, God so loved that He gave. God gave first – let us focus on His example of abundant loving and giving, and follow it.

Bottom line: Focus on being a blessing and unleash powerful forces in your life! Be generous, serve, purpose to empower others, and love abundantly. Turn your focus upward and outward. Always allow your blessings to flow through your life and you’ll continue to experience an ever-increasing manifestation of God’s abundance.

May you be blessed to be a blessing and live a life of growing prosperity!

God bless you always –

Cheers,
Brenda

Inspirational: Hope to Handle Your Anxieties By Finding Ultimate Control!

Inspirational: Hope to Handle Your Anxieties By Finding Ultimate Control!

Hope for the Anxious!

Hope to Handle Anxiety - God is in Control!Inspiration and hope is available

to help you handle your anxieties.

At some point,

we all will have feelings of anxiety,

and when it shows up we want to

get rid of it as soon as possible.

The good news: There is help, so have hope.

“We wait in hope for the LORD; He is our help and our shield.”
— Psalm 33:20

Anxious, Fearful, and a Lack of Control

Anxieties show up for a variety of reasons. Why they come, and to what extent they come, varies from person to person and situation to situation. Typically, a sudden change in life triggers feelings of anxiety, fear, and a lack of control.

Anxiety often comes when we feel as though our circumstances are beyond our control. The pressures and stresses of life can make us feel unsure about the future and cause us to worry and be anxious. An overwhelming sense that we have lost control can overtake us.

“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
— Isaiah 40:31

Hope, Help, Peace, and Ultimate Control

Anxieties do come, but we have hope and help. God clearly tells us what we are to do when worries and concerns arise. He tells us in Matthew 6:25 to not be worried about our lives, and in 1 Peter 5:7 he tells us to cast all our anxieties on Him, because He cares for us.

No doubt, a sudden change can leave you feeling unsure about the future. However, there is never a time when God is unsure. God is in control even when your life becomes torn apart by the pressures of the world.

Anxiety may come when you feel like your circumstances are beyond your control, but nothing is beyond God’s control. “The LORD reigns; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.” (Psalm 97:1)

Do you wonder what happens to your peace and joy when anxiety approaches? Your source of true peace is Jesus Christ. When sorrows and worries come, He calms your heart. When financial anxieties and difficulties increase, He provides for each need.

God tells us to cease striving and know that He is God. (Psalm 46:10) Be still within your heart and allow Him to do for you what you cannot do yourself – calm your fears and anxieties.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
— Romans 15:13

Good news: You do not have to handle your anxieties on your own. God cares for you. His love is unconditional, and His Word promises that He will meet all your needs. Be still and know that God is the superpower of all powers and your life is in His ultimate control. Let His Word be your inspiration and hope.

May you have abundant joy and peace, overflow with hope, and live a life of growing prosperity!

God bless you –

Cheers,
Brenda
