The Gift of Worship – Video

The Gift of Worship – Video

This video is a helpful self-examination of where our heart is at in worship. Do we lay our burdens down at the cross and fix our heart on Jesus and give Him praise?

(Or do we simply sing-a-long and rehearse all our problems in our head and keep the focus on ourselves the whole time we should be giving praise to God Almighty!)

“The hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeks such to worship Him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”
— Jesus Christ (John 4:23-24)

God doesn’t just want you to show up and go through the motions of worship –

God wants your heart!

May we all worship God in Spirit and in truth!

God bless you,
Brenda

Give Me Your Eyes – Brandon Heath Music Video

Give Me Your Eyes – Brandon Heath Christian Music Video

“Give Me Your Eyes” by Brandon Heath

I love this song and the message…

How much this world would change for the better if we all began to pray that God open our eyes and hearts to see the needs of those around us! And that we then take action

This fast paced world of today, with all the technology that allows us to be so connected, still seems to have us running in circles – all consumed with ourselves and disconnected… not noticing those hurting around us.

Several years ago, there was an older man, who was semi-retired and started working part-time at the same company I was at. Soon after we met I kept getting this tugging inside me to invite him to church. But I kept putting it off and about two months after he started working there he took his life.

When I hear songs like this it reminds me that God is trying to get our attention – to look beyond ourselves – and to not only see the needs of others, but to have a heart of compassion that makes us actually do something.

How hard is the simple act of inviting someone to church? Especially if we feel the urge to invite someone specific and see they are in need. I do not know if I had invited my co-worker, if the outcome would have been different. All I know is I was supposed to do my part and I didn’t… and I regret that now.

Tomorrow is a new day. And we have new opportunities to do something as simple as give a smile and a kind compliment to someone – who knows what a difference that may make in their life!

May our eyes and hearts be opened with compassion to reach out in love to others.

God bless you,
Brenda

P.S. “Give Me Your Eyes” by Brandon Heath is on the WOW Hits 2009 CD available on Amazon.

Sara Groves – “It’s Me” – New Music Video

Yes, Marriage Takes Work – But It Is Worth It!

Sara Groves’ new release “It’s Me” and commented about it on Tangle:

“Sometimes when Troy, my husband, and I are in the midst of a disagreement, one of us will say something that’s really sarcastic or just so overt. And being on the receiving end of that, it’s is like, “Honey, it’s me … Sara.” Or vice versa. We just forget who we’re talking to and the value of that person. For whatever reason, you cross that line where sensitivity and tenderness are discarded. You’d never talk to anyone else like that or treat someone else like that. Troy and I are working on that…” — Sara Groves

Healthy and satisfying marriages are what God intends and they are possible
but they do take ongoing work along the way from each partner and –
require God’s help.

As someone who has been married and unfortunately divorced, I’ve been able to see marriage from different perspectives. Now as a single person, looking forward to marriage again, I realize the importance of each person not only going into the marriage committed – but staying committed.

A great marriage resource book I’ve been reading is “Love & Respect” by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. It has a simple but really powerful message about the ‘LOVE She Most Desires’ and the ‘RESPECT He Desperately Needs’.

The message in the book is also followed up with specific things each partner can do and say. Actually, this message of Love & Respect goes beyond marriage relationships, but is guaranteed to help your marriage. I highly recommend it!

Taking the time to personally develop some new skills goes a long way in living a more satisfying life!

God bless you – and may He strengthen all marriages, and heal all those that have been hurt from divorce –

“God is my strength and power: and He makes my way perfect.”
— 2 Samuel 22:33

With God nothing is impossible!

Cheers,
Brenda

P.S. “Love & Respect” is available on Amazon and I see they also have “The Language of Love & Respect Workbook” by the same author.

Casting Crowns “Slow Fade” Music Video

People Never Crumble in a Day!

I listened to this song today and it reminded me of the importance of guarding our thoughts, words, looks, and all the little choices we make on a daily basis that may seem insignificant

It’s a slow fade
when black & white are turned to gray –
when thoughts invade – choices made –
a price will be paid – when you give yourself away –
people never crumble in a day!

It’s the second glance that ties your hands, as darkness pulls your strings.

The cute little girl at the end says:

Be careful little eyes what you see –
For the Father up above is looking down in love –
Be careful little eyes what you see!

How many problems and troubles might we avoid in our lives if we would simply be careful what we see, hear, say, and think on a daily basis in the small ways.  When the small things are ungodly, it is like the song says – they tie our hands and darkness pulls our strings.

But that does not have to be the case, and songs like this are great wake-up reminders to make sure we stay wrapped in the Word and meditate and study God’s Word daily!

Here is a great prayer that my pastor prays over us and encourages us to pray:

“I pray that God would grant you, according to the riches of His glory,
to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man,
That Christ may dwell in your heart by faith…
And that you know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge,
that you might be filled with all the fullness of God.
That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you,
and you in Him, according to the grace of our God
and the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.”
— Ephesians 3:14-21, 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

Be encouraged…

God bless you,
Brenda

Praise & Worship Song by Jeff Johnson

Praise to God the Everlasting, whose light will shine when all else fails . . .

Let the cry of our hearts always be to bring God praise!

“I will bless the LORD at all times:
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make her boast in the LORD:
the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
O magnify the LORD with me,
and let us exalt His name together.”
– Psalm 34: 1-3

This a powerful praise & worship song, by very talented musicians. May it adjust the focus of your heart and brighten your day!

If You Are Battling to Hang on – Don’t Quit!
There is a God Who Wants to Help!

I know this video skit is popular and you may have already watched it, but it is worth viewing again…

We have an enemy in this world. We are not ignorant of that. But just remember we have help available.

I encourage you … whatever battle you are going through – Don’t Give Up! Keep fighting!

Cry out to The Living God and He will help. Ask His forgiveness. There is nothing anyone has done that the blood Jesus paid on the cross can’t wash away and make as white as snow. Put your trust in Jesus. In Him is the power to overcome and be victorious!

POWER TO OVERCOME:

“Behold, I give to you power to tread on serpants and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”  — Luke 10:19

ANGELS ONASSIGNMENT:

“Bless the Lord, you His angels, that excel in strength, that do His commandments, hearkening unto the voice of His Word.” — Psalm 103:20

A PROSPEROUS FUTURE:

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11

God loves you! 🙂 And Jesus too!

God bless you,
Brenda

P.S. The enemy tried to take my life, but The Living God pulled me out of the pit and makes me stand victorious! That is why I know He can do the same for you . . . and I know He will do for my daughters who I see the enemy attacking . . . don’t fight your battles alone, keep crying out to The Living God for help!
