Healthy Living: Hope for Asthma and ADHD Sufferers and One Man’s Personal Testimony

Healthy Living: Hope for Asthma and ADHD Sufferers and One Man’s Personal Testimony

A Journey to Healthy Living

Healthy Living Asthma FreeDo you suffer from asthma, ADHD, and or mental fogginess?

A recent interview on local radio station WWIB.com

with nutritionist Karen Hurd really sparked my attention.

It included the personal testimony of a man that greatly

improved his health and reversed some health issues

he’d struggled with for over 30 years;

simply by making some basic diet changes.

It is highly likely that you are like me, and you either struggle with some of the same issues this man did, or you have friends or loved ones that do. I feel really impressed to share this interview and testimony with you to pass on some hope.

I’m continually amazed at how the most powerful solutions are often so simple.

The interview was on January 26 of 2011 during “Wellness Wednesday” with Karun Hurd on www.WWIB.com. (I was able to download the free podcast of the show from their website, and I highly recommend listening to the whole thing yourself.)

Tom’s Journey to Healthy Living

Let me give you an overview and summarize Tom’s testimony of his long battle with asthma, ADHD, mental fogginess, and unwanted weight.

Tom is a 48 year old man from Wisconsin and currently attending college and pursuing his second degree. He’s struggled for 30 years with asthma, ADHD, and the ability to think clearly, (he said he felt as if he was walking around in a mental fog).

His journey to healthy living actually began with searching for solutions for his son. Tom’s 20 year old son was hospitalized five times the summer before with severe joint pain and the doctors thought it was lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. He was prescribed medicine but with little relief and lots of side effects.

Tom wondered if his son’s illness might have something to do with his diet or a reaction to something he was eating. After searching online for answers, Tom had his son eliminate some foods from his diet. This resulted in all his joint pain symptoms going away and being able to stop taking the prescribed medications.

At that point they eliminated gluten from their diets and to be supportive, Tom did too. Tom was surprised to discover that within two weeks he was able to go off his asthma medication (which he had been on for 30 years) and the ADHD medication (which he had been on for a couple years).

Tom was feeling better but still dealing with low energy at night and unwanted weight that he just couldn’t get rid of; regardless of working out and counting calories. So last summer, Tom and his wife went to meet nutritionist Karen Hurd.

Karen taught them some basics of a healthy diet, including the importance of getting plenty of fiber and protein, and how beans are an excellent source of both. Tom began to eat beans at every meal and started to lose weight, even though he was actually taking in more calories. The increase in fiber was helping his body balance out and shed unwanted weight.

What is Tom Eating Now?

A typical breakfast is two fried eggs, a half cup of baked beans, and maybe some bacon. Lunch is usually a trip to the Mexican restaurant near campus for a lettuce salad with chicken and beans. Snacks throughout the day are things like yogurt, psyllium husk, cheese, vegetables, and nuts. Dinner might be eggs and beans, or stir fry steak with veggies and some beans.

In addition to helping a person lose weight, the additional fiber in the diet helps clean out toxins and bile in the system. As the body cleaned up, Tom noticed that he not only lost weight, but gained increased energy and mental clarity.

The Fog Has Lifted and Mental Clarity Has Moved In

The last two semesters Tom had the highest grade point averages ever, even though he had the most difficult and taxing classes. Normally he would have to read and re-read something several times to try and remember what he read. Now he can read and recall and remember what was written! Tom said he hasn’t been able to do that since grade school or Jr. High.

Men in their 40s typically experience increasing loss of memory and inability to focus. Tom said he always seemed to have what he described as “mental fogginess”; an inability to focus, which he thought was normal.  He said it was like always reading something and not being able to remember what he just read.

But now after making these changes to his diet, Tom says:

“It’s like the fogginess is gone and the cloud has been lifted out of my brain.”

Karen pointed out that Tom also eliminated sugar and caffeine from his diet. She said getting rid of the sugar is the biggest key to helping lift the brain fog. She recommends removing pop and desserts from your diet because these have such large amounts of sugar. ADHD people metabolize sugars really fast and have mental crashes, preventing them from fully accessing their mental capacity.

Tom said he used to be a sugar junkie and literally have two 20 ounce Mt Dews a day, candy bars, donuts, etc. – he loved sweets. He said he knew it was going to be tough to let those go, but now that they are out of his system it is not hard to avoid them.

Tom said he had been on asthma medication for over 30 years and his chest had always been tight and wheezy. He said a couple weeks after taking gluten out of his diet he had gone out of town and forgot to take his asthma spray with. But he realized he felt fine and didn’t even need it and hasn’t used it since. He’s felt fine and hasn’t had an episode even with working out, etc.

Did Tom Even Have Asthma?

Tom thinks he never even had asthma. He said he learned that gluten intolerance can make the immune system attack what it is intolerant to and create mucus. In Tom’s case his lungs produced mucus, but once he eliminated the gluten, there was nothing to react to and therefore he no longer had mucus in his lungs and what seemed like asthma symptoms.

If you suffer from asthma or ADHD, you may want to apply some of these diet suggestions and see if you experience the benefits. (Of course this is not medical advice and you should consult your doctor before making any changes.)

How to Sleep Like a Baby with a Really Simple Diet Change!

How to Sleep Like a Baby with a Really Simple Diet Change!

Tired of Sleepless Nights?

Sweet Sleep, Sleep Like a BabySleepless nights quickly take their toll on a person’s life.

If you are someone who tosses and turns at night…

you know it is a problem that effects more than your sleep.

A lack of sleep soon causes havoc in your daytime routine as well.

Are you tired of being tired? If so, you may want to read on and take look at one of the culprits that may be preventing you from sleeping like a baby; out of whack sugar levels. Hypoglycemia is a condition of lowered blood sugar levels, which can result in trouble sleeping.

What’s Your Bedtime Routine Look Like?

Does this sound familiar? You’re wrapping up a long day and you’ll be going to bed soon. A bowl of ice cream and a cookie sounds like a nice bedtime snack, so you enjoy one and head to bed. You fall asleep right away.

But then in the middle of the night you wake up and simply cannot go back to sleep. You toss and turn and lie there thinking about the previous day and what you need to do tomorrow. Your mind replays things over and over and you’re frustrated because you desperately need sleep but just can’t fall back asleep.

Or do you experience this scenario? You eat your ice cream and go to bed, only to find yourself tossing and turning. You don’t sleep well. You have weird, scary dreams such as running to escape from danger and jumping off a cliff. You wake up in a sweat; feeling like you’ve been run over by a train. You are not rested and feel like you’ve been in a battle all night in your dreams.

What is going on?

Remember the ice cream, (or anything sweet) you ate before bed? Well it causes your blood sugar to rise quickly. Your pancreas then in turn cranks out a jolt of insulin to bring the sugar levels down, but it puts out too much insulin. Now your sugar levels are dropping too quickly.

And, since you are asleep you will not be eating something to bring up your out of whack blood sugar levels. So your body calls upon your adrenal system to trigger the release of stored glycogen into the blood stream. It works, and your blood sugar levels rise.

However, the problem is that now you also have fight or flight hormones coursing through the blood stream. One of these hormones, norepinephrine, is also a neurotransmitter. It causes your mind to kick into high gear and think, to devise a plan to fight and escape danger; it turns your sweet dreams into nightmares.

Sleeping Like a Baby Doesn’t Have to be a Dream!

Clearly a lack of sleep detracts from your quality of life. The good news is that, simple diet changes can be made to help control low blood sugar and improve quality of sleep.

Do this. Make a point of eating six times a day; three meals and three snacks. Include some protein at each of these times. Protein is critical to controlling low blood sugar because it slows the absorption of sugar into the blood stream and causes a gradual rise in blood sugar instead of a straight line increase.

Never eat a carbohydrate alone. Always have it with a protein. If you find yourself awake at night and having trouble going back to sleep, eat something with some protein, a little carbohydrate, and a little fatty acid; like a piece of cheese and a cracker, or a handful of peanuts.

Your next step? Take what you’ve just learned and put it into practice. This really simple diet change is easy to do and it may just allow you to place your head on your pillow and sleep like a baby.

May your nights be filled with sweet sleep and your life be full of growing prosperity!

God bless you always,
Brenda

Live Healthy – Is Stress and Anxiety Taking You for a Ride on the Emotional Roller Coaster?

Live Healthy – Is Stress and Anxiety Taking You for a Ride on the Emotional Roller Coaster?

Find Out How Stress Affects More Than Your Moods!

Get off the emotional stress roller coasterLive healthy and stress less.

I know; much easier said than done in today’s busy world.

Are you stressed out these days?

Well you need to understand that worry and anxiety affects more than just our moods.

Truth is, even if we faithfully practice healthy habits like exercising and eating properly, the benefits we’ve gained from that will be thrown out the window if we let stress get the best of us!

The Stress Flare

How are your stress levels after you’ve had a long day at work and traffic on the freeway slows to a crawl? Or how about running late in the morning when getting the kids off to school because one unexpected thing after another continues to happen?

Listen, we’ve all been there as situations that are out of our control cause our tempers to flare and sometimes reach a boiling point. But what we need to be aware of is how this stress affects our body.

What happens in these stressful situations is that the body revs up production of a hormone called cortisol. Blood vessels constrict and divert the flow of blood from processes like digestion to the quick-acting muscles in the arms and legs, where an energy burst could be needed. The heart races to keep up with the frenzied motion, and the resulting hyper-alertness causes all sorts of anxiety.

We have to realize that even if we are health-conscious and go to great lengths to take care of our bodies, but we give stress, frustration, anger, worry, and anxiety the upper hand, we wipe out most of all the health benefits we have gained.

When we worry extensively, harbor bitterness, or give in to anger, these emotions pile stress on our immune system and weaken its ability to work properly. Stress is a key source for many ills such as: hypertension, elevated heart rate, headaches, and hormonal imbalances in the body.

Emotional Roller Coaster

Researchers are finding it more apparent that emotions are powerful forces within the human mind that clearly affect the body and soul. The proper adjustments in attitude can help prevent us from becoming unhealthy individuals.

Don Colbert, M.D., in his book Deadly Emotions, says that an emotional roller coaster saps a person physically and psychologically, which can leave both mind and body depleted of energy and strength. He also points out that medical studies indicate:

  •  The mind and body are linked, which means how you feel emotionally can impact how you feel physically.
  • Individuals who are fighting depression have an increased risk of developing cancer and heart disease.
  • Emotions such as anxiety and fear have been linked to heart palpitations, irritable bowel syndrome, tension headaches, and more.

Don’t Worry. Be Happy!

Negative emotions alter body chemistry and can be a force that affects us in many ways. For example, it can affect our ability to sleep and digest food.

When life’s pressures build, we tend to revert back to unhealthy habits and turn to junk food for comfort. And we have no problem justifying it because of the intense pressure at work or at home, in our relationships, or dealing with financial setbacks, etc.

Be aware though, that turning to a diet of comfort food, junky snacks, or gooey desserts is going backwards, not forward, on the road to healthy living. Instead of these rich foods taking your mind off your troubles, they can actually compound your difficulties and add even more emotional stress. Know this and strive to make the better choices even in the midst of your struggles.

“Have no anxiety about anything; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 4:6-7

So, go ahead; don’t worry – be happy! In reality, worry and stress are symptoms of a lack of trust in our heavenly Father. We need to work on doing what Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:34-35 to cure anxiety; which is to ‘seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will care for itself.’

May you seek first the kingdom of God and let His peace keep your heart and mind as you enjoy a life of growing prosperity!

God bless you always –

Cheers,
Brenda

Christian Parenting – Stop Using Negative Verbal Attacks and Start Parenting with Words that Prosper!

Christian Parenting – Stop Using Negative Verbal Attacks and Start Parenting with Words that Prosper!

Parenting With the Power to Help Our Children Prosper

Parenting with a healthy pattern of communication is possible.

Do you want to help your children prosper?

Just as the world around us has harmful elements, so do our homes; even our Christian homes.

As unfortunate as it is, we often hurt each other, especially our children, with our words.

Did you grow up with parents who used words as verbal attacks?

If you did, I’m sure you hoped you wouldn’t do the same with your children. But the truth is, you will probably repeat the pattern unless you purpose to take action and stop it.

Stop the Negative Communication Pattern of Parenting

Changing your parenting communication pattern from one that uses negative verbal attacks is possible. Developing healthy patterns of communication, which reflect the presence of Jesus Christ, is key!

I’m sure you would agree that the cruel, degrading, judgmental, hurtful words we use to communicate with our children must stop. It is like verbal poison that wounds and destroys our children emotionally. Our words are often negative attacks at a child’s behavior, intelligence, appearance, or value as a person.

Verbal attacks can be direct or indirect. The following statements are some common examples:

  • You’re worthless and will never amount to anything.
  • Don’t act so stupid. Can’t you do anything right?
  • You are no good. Why can’t you be like your brother?

Just because we can’t see the inner damage that verbal attacks cause in our children, does not mean a negative impact still isn’t left lingering in them.

Parenting With Words That Prosper

How do we change a negative parenting communication pattern to one that is positive and helps develop our children into prosperous individuals?

Acknowledging the need to change is the first step. The next step is identifying abusive words we use. Then we need to begin exchanging the destructive, hurtful words with constructive, guiding, nurturing, and encouraging words.

James said the tongue is full of deadly poison and out of the same mouth proceeds blessing and cursing. (James 3:8-10) We need to lean on God’s help to keep our words, words of blessing and encouragement.

When our words are full of nurture and encouragement, our children know we are standing with them and not against them. Children need their parents to believe in their potential as they guide and discipline them.

Believe in your children. Help your children see themselves the way God sees them. Help them find their unique, gifted potential and you’ll also find they begin to respond in ways you desire. Once they discover you are standing with them, a healthier communication develops.

Yes. Our children try our patience, irritate us and sometimes humiliate us in ways we never thought possible. Problems, difficulties, disappointments, heartaches and failures are an unavoidable part of parenting. But we can choose to respond with words that heal instead of words that wound.

Bottom line: A parents words have power. We can make our children feel worthless or we can choose to learn how to parent with a healthy pattern of communication; one that helps them think as highly of themselves as God does, and helps them prosper.

May you parent your children with words of love and enjoy a family blessed with growing prosperity!

God bless you always,
Brenda

Self-Esteem – 7 Ways to Live With Bold Confidence

Self-Esteem – 7 Ways to Live With Bold Confidence

Transform Yourself Into a Shining Success!

Healthy self-esteem and bold confidence,

when put to work in your life…

have transforming power to make you a shining success.

Have you been living with intimidation, self-doubt, anxiety, fear, and rejection? If so, then you know it is time to change the insecurity into security.

Do yourself a favor and take a little time to focus on some ways you can overcome those negative, unwanted traits you’ve been carrying around for way too long.

7 Ways to Help You Live With Bold Confidence:

1.) CHOOSE TO RISE ABOVE

Make a commitment to yourself today, to begin overcoming the weaknesses and inadequacies you’ve been dealing with. Even though it will take hard work and you are bound to mess up along the way, make a conscious decision to keep pressing on and rising above. You are worth it!

2.) SPEND TIME WITH ENCOURAGERS

Be cautious who you spend time with. Your relationships are a key factor in overcoming a low self-esteem.  Choose to spend time with encouragers. Regardless of your past, you can have healthy relationships.

“He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”
— Proverbs 13:20

3.) SHIFT YOUR FOCUS ON OTHERS

There is a great empowerment that comes from shifting your focus off yourself and on to others. It is easy to keep our minds focused on our own problems, fears, and insecurities. But this only intensifies them. Look around at someone struggling and reach out to lend a hand. True peace comes from giving.

4.) MAKE YOUR POSITIVE THOUGHTS RULE

Keep your mind filled with positive, empowering, confidence building, and happy thoughts. Overcoming a negative, and weak self-image is going to require that you eliminate those self-defeating thoughts. Squeeze them out of your mind by replacing them with healthy, confident thoughts.

Remember, God is not the one who gave you a spirit of fear. He gave you a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind! (2 Timothy 1:7)

5.) LEAVE THE PAIN IN THE PAST

Do not waste any more time replaying painful, embarrassing, or intimidating experiences from your past. This keeps you stuck and prevents you from walking into the future with the bold confidence needed to succeed. You do not have to let others (or past memories) cause you to lack confidence and live with insecurity.

Forgive anyone that has hurt you, and forgive yourself while you are at it. Then put the painful past behind you and face your future with strong confidence.

6.) TRUST GOD

God has a good plan for our lives. If we spend our lives trusting in ourselves and other people, the result is disappointment after disappointment. We need to put our trust in God and let him guide us. He is the one that will give us the desires of our heart. (Psalm 37:3-6)

7.) TALK CONFIDENCE

Just like it is vital to your self-esteem to get control of your thoughts, the same is true of your words. What are you saying about yourself? Do you make self-defeating confessions such as: ‘I am so ugly,’ ‘I am such a loser,’ ‘I am worthless,’ ‘I am stupid,’ ‘I never do anything right,’ etcetera?

The words we speak have power to affect us for the good or bad. Use this knowledge to empower yourself with confidence building confessions. It does not matter if you or others have spoken negative, curses over your life; you now have the choice to speak positive, encouraging, faith-filled words.

“In all things I am more than a conqueror through Him that loved me.”
— Romans 8:37

Your next step? Make the decision to begin applying these seven steps to help you conquer low self-esteem, intimidation, fear, and insecurity. Encourage yourself and refuse to give up. God says you are a victor and you really can be all that God has called you to be. You can live with bold confidence and transform yourself into a shining success.

May you live empowered with bold confidence and enjoy a life of growing prosperity!

God bless you,

How to Swiftly Overcome Anxiety with 7 Successful Self-Improvement Tips

How to Swiftly Overcome Anxiety with 7 Successful Self-Improvement Tips

Personal Growth: Be the Success You Were Intended to Be!

Self Improvement JoyPersonal growth to overcome anxiety is power to change your life.

A life of panic and anxiety is no way to live.

If the symptoms of this hindering, fear driven behavior have been preventing you from being and doing all that you desire…

…then read on to discover some helpful tips.

It is possible to overcome and be in charge of your life and stop letting fear, anxiety, and stress have control.

7 Successful Tips to Swiftly Overcome Anxiety:

1.) CALL ON GOD – This tip has been listed first because God should always be first in our lives. The moment something else takes first place, is the moment we allow disorder to spread in our lives. Pray and call on God daily!

God says He will never leave you, so you can boldly say,

“The Lord is my helper, I will not fear what man can do.” (Hebrews 13:6)

2.) GUARD YOUR MIND & HEART – What you allow into your mind long enough is eventually going to get into your heart and show up in your life. Watch closely what you put in your mind and make sure it is positive.

Are you watching and listening to news, music, and movies with crude, fear driven, disturbing, negative, and stressful messages? Then you are allowing this garbage into your mind. Would you allow a garbage truck to unload in your house?

“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.”
— Proverbs 4:23

3.) DAILY MEDITATION & AFFIRMATIONS – This follows the second tip. After putting a stop to negative intake, that encourages fear and anxiety, we now need to replace it with positive, confidence building thoughts, images, and words.

No one can preach to you like you can preach to you. Renew your mind daily. Take time to daily meditate and affirm positive confidence building statements that will build yourself up.

Start with positive affirmations such as the following:

  • I am Bold, Courageous, Confident, and Powerful.
  • I am Proud of Myself for the Positive Changes I am Making Daily.
  • God has Given Me a Spirit of Power, Love, and a Sound Mind.

4.) HEALTHY LIFESTYLE – A healthy lifestyle is critical to our total well being. We are spirit, mind, and body. It is impossible to let one area of our being go downhill and not have it affect us.

A healthy, balanced diet that reduces sugar, alcohol, and caffeine will reduce stress and anxiety levels. An exercise routine, even one of simply taking regular walks, will quickly help lift your spirits.

5.) BE AWARE OF YOUR INNER DIALOGUE – What type of conversation is going on in your head? Do you speak to yourself with kindness, respect, and love; like you would with someone you care about?

Stop rehearsing your past failures, shortcomings, and mistakes over and over. Let them go and acknowledge that you have the ability to change your present and future. Make a list of your positive qualities and abilities. Then remind yourself of them. Speak to yourself as if you were your own best friend.

6.) TACKLE FEAR HEAD ON – We’ve all experienced the fear and panic that can overtake us with no notice. Fear is a thief and it steals our destinies and prevents our progress. It causes those who should be bold and aggressive to shrink back and be timid.

Don’t let fear control you. Face it head on and begin taking baby steps by doing things afraid. Move forward and do what you need to do even in the midst of fear. Each time you do, you crush the fearful, anxious spirit and build up the confident spirit within you.

7.) KNOWLEDGE IS POWER – Get informed and find out what you can about the symptoms and causes of panic and anxiety. Many people struggle with anxiety and many have overcome. You are not alone in your struggle and taking a step to inform yourself is a big step to victory.

Getting informed helps equip you with the power to overcome.

Your goal? To start utilizing these tips today. Do not allow anxiety to paralyze your potential. Overcoming is a gradual process, but by applying these tips to your life you can speed up the process. Lift up your head to the light and BOLDLY decide to be all that GOD created you to be. Now go take steps of personal growth.

May you continue to grow in confidence and experience a life of growing prosperity!

Soar higher –

Brenda

Breast Cancer – Estrogen Fed Cancer & the Power of Nutrition

Breast Cancer – Estrogen Fed Cancer & the Power of Nutrition

Pro-Active Steps You Can Take In the Fight Against Breast Cancer!

Breast Cancer AwarenessBreast Cancer Awareness was last month and I heard a really helpful interview on a local radio station http://www.WWIB.com on October 14th.

Nutritionist Karen Hurd located in Fall Creek, WI and online at http://www.KarenHurd.com, was interviewed and gave some really helpful, health impacting information.

I’ve listened to her before and I’ve always been impressed. She has a way of explaining how the body works in easy-to-understand terms. And all of her recommendations, that I’ve tried, have helped me.

Today I’ll try to just stay focused on this interview about estrogen fed cancer. Also let me make my disclaimer up front – this post is based on the notes I took while listening to the interview and I do my best to be accurate. But even so this is in no way medical advice… if you have a problem, please go see a doctor!

Estrogen fed cancers are tumorous growths that are fed by the hormones estrogen. There are four types of estrogen – and estrogen fed cancers are fed by one of the strongest estrogens that we make. It stimulates female tissue to grow past what it should be growing and to grow tissue that is an anomaly (not supposed to be there). Then that tissue is called a tumor and can spread as cancer to other parts of the body as well. So it is important to keep it in check!

Since estrogen is causing this… if we can control the amount of estrogen being secreted or get rid of the estrogen that is already circulating in the body – we could have a major impact on the cancer!

How Do We Go About Getting Control of the Estrogen in Our Body?

1.) Stop the Things that are Causing Over-Production

What causes us to produce large amounts of estrogen that are over-the-top amounts that cause cancerous growths?

Things like the following were the main culprits mentioned:

A. CAFFEINE – Caffeine is one of the worst culprits in estrogen fed cancers! It produces large amounts of estrogen (too much estrogen and then you can grow fibroids or tumors that become cancerous.) As difficult as it may be, it is important to STOP the intake of caffeine.

If you give up the coffee (and/or pop) your estrogen levels will begin to fall. Suggested alternatives besides plain water are: carbonated water and almond milk (warm almond milk is good).

B. SUGAR – Sugar is another culprit that stimulates the production of estrogen.

C. PERFUMES & FRAGERANCES – Perfumes may not be something you would have considered, but they are well known for stimulating the production of hormones.

2.) Get Rid of the Estrogen that is Already Made

We recycle estrogen everyday – all day. Most of the time it is not being properly eliminated, and gets recycled in the blood stream and wreaks havoc.

How do we eliminate it?

Have a diet high in fiber; beans and legumes. If you are dealing with symptoms, add large amounts of soluble fiber into your diet – it would be nice to press 30-50 grams p/day, which means ½ cup of beans 6-9 times a day. Then you clear a lot of estrogen and reduce your risks.

Randy Johnson, a client of Karen Hurd, was also on the interview. Randy already had a mastectomy late 2007 and then contacted Karen when dealing with the crisis of breast cancer. She was also seeing her regular doctors, and so she has lots of documentation of her test results.

After she started the recommended nutritional diet changes, her tested levels of estrogen dropped dramatically! She did not end up taking the chemotherapy and is now cancer free. Randy also mentioned other health benefits from her nutritional diet changes and her story is very encouraging.

This is a verse she stood on during her health crisis:

“Trust Me in your times of trouble and I will rescue you and you will glorify Me.” – Psalm 50:15

I’ve personally taken Karen’s previous advice on cutting out sugar and adding fish oil to my diet. I haven’t completely cut out sugar but take in very little. Those two changes alone made a significant difference for me.

I really suggest not ignoring the practical everyday things we can do to help ourselves achieve better health. As Karen said, “There are no side effects to a healthy diet – only side benefits.”

If we pray and ask God for help and He brings to our attention steps we can take, why would we want to ignore them?

I was dealing with symptoms and have been in prayer about them, and then this interview just happened to show up. I’ve been challenged with giving up my coffee, but I am working on it and also getting the majority of my protein from beans now.

I’ve already noticed most of my symptoms gone, (now just dealing with caffeine withdrawal headaches).

Bottom line: Have HOPE! Do not ignore the practical nutritional steps you can take. And do not fear. Do what you can and Trust God – always!

God bless you,
Brenda

P.S. I was reminded of a book I’ve had for many years that is also packed full of helpful information. I just dug it out and dusted it off. I see it is still available on Amazon and is called: “You CAN Prevent Breast Cancer” by Harvey Diamond.
