Self-Growth – Uncovering the Great Power of Possibilities Within! Part 1 of 2
The Great Secret the Creator Put in Our Hands at Birth!
This is a great time of year to remind all of us,
young and old, in school or out of school,
that men and women who are trying to
make the most of their lives,
never stop growing on their journey through life.
The following are words of wisdom and encouragement from Orison Swett Marden. They are excerpts from chapter 7 “How to Find Oneself” from the book “How to Get What You Want.” Although written back in 1917, these words still hold great insight and the ability to stir us up and check our current progress in life.
Excerpts from “How to Find Oneself” by Orison Swett Marden:
One of the most difficult things in the world is to get people to realize the extent of their latent powers, to believe in their own bigness, in their own possibilities.
The reason is that they see only a part of themselves, because they have only partially discovered themselves.
“Each of us has resources of which he does not dream.”
— Professor William James
If we could only turn a spiritual X-ray on ourselves most of us would find powers and potencies in the great within of us which may not have gotten even to their germinating stage.
There is probably not a living being who would not be amazed if he could see unfolded in panorama all of the potentialities within him, if he could only glimpse the man he might be.
He would say, “These remarkable success qualities belong to someone who has achieved distinction, not to an unknown person like me.”
What you are actually doing may be a dwarfed thing compared with the giant achievement you are capable of. It is not what you have done, but what you long to do, what you feel capable of doing that will, if you struggle to express your ideal, count most.
Up to this time you may have been seriously hampered or dwarfed in your development. All sorts of things may have happened to the possible man, or the possible woman in you, to limit its growth, to restrict it, to impoverish it.
But it is that superb thing that is possible to you, the thing which the Creator sent you here to do that you must strive to express.
In the great within of yourself there may be vast powers which you have never called out. What masterfulness, what vast reserves of helpfulness, inspiration, and encouragement may still lie uncovered within you!
You doubt that there is anything of the kind? But you do not know.
Many a man has carried locked up within himself for more than half a century the germs of a mighty genius without even guessing at it. There are multitudes of men and women all over the world who are as ignorant of their possibilities, of their hidden success assets.
“Few men find themselves before they die.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson
Many carry with them to their graves undiscovered continents of ability. The great majority die without developing their possible efficiency of hand, or tongue, or of brain; without developing any of the special gifts locked up in the great within of themselves.
Most of us die with the great secret, with the sealed message which the Creator put in our hands at birth, still unread, because we have never learned how to open or how to read it.
How can you be sure that you have not a lot of this ability you long for locked up in yourself?
If you have not tried your strength, how do you know what you may be able to do? You may have more ability slumbering within you than you dream of.
Why waste your precious time thinking about other people’s genius? Why not unlock your own, see what you have, bring it out into the light and develop it?
When we know that even the great majority of men whom we call successful use only a comparatively small part of their ability because they never find all of themselves, why should any of us put a narrow limit to our possibilities, remain paupers in achievement when we might be princes?
We set our own limitations.
There are enough powers, enough resources in the minds of the people in the great failure army today to revolutionize the world if their sleeping potencies could be aroused; if they could only be made to believe in themselves.
If they could only learn how to enter into the secret depths of their nature, to get hold of themselves, to arouse latent qualities and powers, they could do marvelous things. The great problem is to know how to get at the force in the great within of ourselves and to put it to work to the best advantage.
For whether life shall be a success or a failure depends upon the call we make on our resources, the extent to which we develop all our possibilities.
We don’t know what we can do until we try, and unused faculties never grow or strengthen.
Everywhere we see starved, stunted lives, people who have discovered but little bits of themselves, little patches cleared up here and there in the great wilderness of their possibilities. They couldn’t believe in their inherent greatness.
They couldn’t realize that they were born into this world to do a certain work; and that to do that work they would need every bit of power they could develop.
The average youth starting out in life has no means of knowing what his total assets are.
He sees only the assets that lie on the surface, and if he is not instructed how to find those that are deep down below the surface, if he does not get into the right environment, if he does not make a call on the divinity within him, he may never develop the man it is possible for him to be.
The end of part 1 of 2…
“‘For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'”
— Jeremiah 29:11

Procrastinate No More – Why Put Off For Tomorrow What You Can Do Today?
Stop Procrastination and Tap Into Your Enormous God Given Potential!
Why do we all have the natural tendency to…
do things tomorrow –
instead of today?
Have you been putting off…
and decisions in your life?
The Procrastination Trap
Often times we postpone our work and our choices in order to avoid discomfort. Sometimes we stall because of self-doubt or a sense of inadequacy associated with the task at hand. Other times, we simply lack the needed motivation to get started.
Whatever the reason, procrastination usually has negative consequences and simply creates stress as the projects and decisions begin to pile up…
And then there are spiritual consequences when we procrastinate. Important tasks in our church or volunteer organizations may be left undone and we may become a stumbling block to others. Our spiritual growth may slow to a stop, and worse of all, we may miss out on the blessing of God.
This is why we need to move beyond our fears and personal inadequacies and allow God to work in our lives. Once we admit our weaknesses to our heavenly Father, He is faithful to help us overcome them.
Put a Stop to Procrastination
If you find that procrastination is negatively affecting your life, then first confess this problem and turn it over to God. Then, try to identify the areas of your life in which you procrastinate. Ask yourself what feelings accompany your lack of motivation in these areas? Are you afraid, angry, bitter, or resentful?
Once we are ready to submit these emotions to God, He is ready to help us remove them from our lives. Then we have to choose to do today what we know to do, instead of making choices on the basis of feelings. The next time you do not ‘feel’ like working, stop and ask God to provide the godly motivation you need.
“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might.” — Ecclesiastes 9:10
Tomorrow is never guaranteed, and that helps explain the urgency felt in the above verse. Whatever task we may have at hand, we need to respond by doing it now and doing it well. Take whatever God has put in your hand and use it, without delay and without reserve, for the Lord.
God created us all with enormous potential to do great things. But if we want to tap into the potential that is currently beyond where we are now, we have to take action with the gifts and talents and opportunities God puts in front of us.
The clock is ticking. Don’t put off for tomorrow what you can do today. Especially do not procrastinate in serving the Lord; ask Him every morning for his help. Whatever God has put on your heart to do today; do it now with all your might and put a stop to procrastination.
May God give you the motivation to do today, what needs to be done today, so you can tap into your potential and manifest a life of growing prosperity!

Empowerment – Do Not Be a Wimp in the Valley of Decision Making!
Discover How the Power of Decisiveness and Quality Choices Can Lead to Success!
We all have our strengths and weaknesses.
At some point in life…
a lack of success and/or balance
will shed light on those areas that need to be better
developed and strengthened.
Are You a Decision Making Wimp?
A primary trait that we all should develop as soon as possible is the ability to make quality decisions. Every person is born with a God-given capacity and right to choose. The ability to choose is our free moral agency, and it is also one of the main ways in which we are made in the image of God.
We are born into a world where everything operates by decisions.
“Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.”
— Joel 3:14
God respects our right to choose and make decisions, even if it results in a bad outcome. Truly we live in the valley of decision and we see man’s right to choose as a theme repeated throughout the Bible. Different aspects of the power of choice are emphasized from Genesis to Revelation.
“I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore choose life, that both you and your seed may live.”
— Deuteronomy 30:19
Let the Almighty God ‘Have Your Back’
Choosing to live by faith in God is the most important quality decision you can make in life. When you make a determined decision to trust God and His Word over any circumstance, you open the door to receive His promises.
The Almighty God is ready and willing to back you up with all of heaven’s power. He will move mighty on behalf of someone who has purposed to do things by the Book. You make the decision and God will back you up!
It is no secret; those who are half-hearted and wishy-washy about their decision making, never reach the level of success they desire. Why? Because the people that are double minded, and waver in their choices, are unstable and lack the commitment and resolve needed to win.
“Ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”
— James 1:6-8
Many people are wise enough to make a quality decision to do things God’s way early on in life. However, for others it may take finally getting fed up with where they are at…
If that is you, are you going to continue to live with problems that are trying to defeat you, or are you going to make a determined, unwavering decision to overcome by doing things God’s way?
Start to practice making conscious choices to do things God’s way in the little things, and over time it will become a habit and easier to choose His way in the big things.
Guess what? All of heaven is waiting for your quality decision, made of your own free will, to operate according to God’s Word. It is an essential step in the divine order of faith and opens the door to the blessings and power of God. Begin now to empower yourself by making regular, intentional, committed decisions.
May you empower yourself with decisiveness and live in growing prosperity!
Be blessed to be a blessing –
P.S. Christianity is really nothing more than a series of decisions…
Think about it. Jesus died on the cross so that you might have forgiveness of sins and inherit eternal life. But that fact alone does you no good unless you make a decision to receive what He provided for you. God respects your right to choose (even if that means letting you spend eternity in hell).

How to Prosper and Achieve Incredible Success with the Powerful Skill of Diligence!
This Rare but Powerful Skill is the Prosperous Key to Helping Make Your Dreams a Reality
require the use of powerful skills.
How would you like to become one in 1000…
who accomplishes abundant success?
In every project we take on,
as well as every goal we go after,
we will get results anywhere from extraordinary to disastrous.
The Prosperous Key to Making Dreams a Reality
Take a look at the lives of successful people and you’ll see that they have encountered final outcomes in one or more aspects of their lives from this range.
The exception: When it comes to the prosperous areas of their lives, the successful results are from putting into practice the simple, but extremely powerful skill of diligence.
Diligence was the key that helped them make their dreams a reality.
“Do you see a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings.”
— Proverbs 22:29
Thomas Edison, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Walt Disney, Henry Ford, and Bill Gates are just a few of the people who have used the skill of diligence.
Why Do So Few People Fully Utilize Diligence?
The truth is it is a skill that can be learned by anyone regardless of their education, background, or IQ. True diligence is a rare, valuable trait that runs contrary to human nature.
Everyone has characteristics that happen to be part of the human condition. These types of characteristics create our natural drives, tendencies, strengths, as well as weaknesses. Diligence, although, is just not one of them.
Actually, the characteristic universal to all mankind is the desire, or drive, for quick gratification. We desire as much as we can acquire, as quickly as we can acquire it, by using as little work as possible. This is our human nature. Everyone has a natural tendency to pursue the path of least resistance.
“The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.”
— Proverbs 21:5
Thankfully, in spite of this natural tendency, we can decide to undertake a path of greater resistance and grow diligent in the pursuit of every venture, assignment, or goal. And when a person develops this type of diligence, it is possible to achieve incredible success in any significant area of life.
Diligence to Prosper
Diligence is often described as a persistent and hard-working effort in doing something.
Diligence is working at something with persistence in addition to working smart. Doing it right, or to put it another way, doing it on time to the highest possible standards achievable, regardless of what is required or anticipated. It means bringing creative thinking, persistence, and in many cases incorporating other individuals as well as outside resources into the work to achieve incredible success.
Seem difficult and too much to handle?
That is because true diligence consists of numerous qualities. That’s the reason true diligence is extremely rare and hard to find. However, let me just say, you can begin incorporating these qualities of excellence today and start developing the skill of diligence. And you need to know that anybody can develop it.
Why not develop this rare, but powerful skill of diligence that is your prosperous key to helping make your dreams a reality?
Make no mistake about it; prosperous outcomes are possible when we have perfected the skill of diligence. We can make use of it in all critical areas of our lives, in any undertaking or goal; to quickly achieve amazing results. We can make use of it to change lousy careers into great careers; okay relationships into wonderful relationships; and a faltering business into a prosperous one.
May you develop the powerful skill of diligence and achieve a life of growing prosperity!

Personal Growth – How to Take a Look Outward and Ramp Up Your Growth Inward!
A Personal Investment Guaranteed to Bring Returns
It provides returns in the future…
and it also provides benefits for today.
Would you like to invest in something that can ramp up returns to your personal growth…
and at the same time bring value to the lives of those around you?
“Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves.” – James Matthew Barrie
A Successful Investment
Look outward and invest in the success of others. Why? Because when we help others overcome their hurdles and make it through their troubles, we see the same help manifest in our lives. And soon we will discover we are close to our own success.
The good things we make come to pass for others, God will make come to pass for us.
“Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man does, the same shall he receive of the Lord.” — Ephesians 6:8
Giving Ramps Up Personal Growth
Practice helping others regularly. Help them see the bright side of their troubles. Stir up and draw out their gifts and callings.
Give to others with your words. Speak words of praise and encouragement to them. A few kind words can go a long way in lifting a person’s spirits; especially in these days of being bombarded constantly with negative messages.
The person that refreshes others will be refreshed themselves. (Proverbs 11:25)
When we look outward to help others, we create more room to grow on the inside. We grow spiritually to the extent we give out.
Bottom line: Take time to help others grow and help them see the potential person they can be. A great exercise for the heart is reaching out and lifting someone else up. So what are you still doing here? Go now and find someone to help and at the same time ramp up your own personal growth.
May you have a heart to help others and a life of growing prosperity!

You are special. When we begin to use our God given gifts, we develop into a specialist. Keep in mind: We were not created to be all things to all people.
Do not be one of the masses that bury their talents and gifts. Do not be a copy cat and go down the path of least resistance. Develop your unique gifts to the fullest and do not be surprised when others call you gifted.
God tells us not to conform to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds to His Word. Then we will be able to test and approve what His perfect and acceptable will is. (Romans 12:2)

Personal Growth – How to Be Spiritually Mature with 9 Key Qualities!
Discover 9 Key Qualities to Help Evaluate and Guide You Spiritually
We are a spirit, with a soul (mind, will, and emotions), living in a body. Growing in all areas is vital to living a full life.
We have check-ups with our doctor to determine the condition of our physical health, and learn how to make adjustments and improvements. We also take tests to measure our intelligence and the condition of our emotional and mental well-being.
How do we determine our spiritual condition?
These nine quality factors will help evaluate spiritual maturity level and act as a guide for future growth. They are biblically based from Galatians 5:22. As Christians we call them Fruits of the Spirit.
The level of which these qualities are visible (or not visible) in a person’s life is evidence of their inward spiritual condition. They offer a great evaluation process for everyone.
9 Key Qualities to Help Evaluate and Guide Your Spiritual Maturity:
Are the things you do in life motivated by your love for people? Love is number one here, because walking in love is required to open the door to the other qualities.
Do you exhibit an unshakable joy, regardless of your changing circumstances? Joy is not based on what is happening around you, but knowing that your name is written in heaven. Let the joy of the Lord be your strength.
Are others able to take courage in your unshakable peace? When you know God, you’ll know peace and with His presence in your life you’ll have a peace that passes all understanding and is present in the midst of storms.
Do you display patience with yourself and others in the things you wish to accomplish? Patience in daily events allows for a peaceful life. If God can have such great patience with us, we should strive to have patience with others.
Are you caring and understanding with people? Kindness displays sweetness when dealing with others.
Do you want the best for others? When genuine goodness is evident in you, people will trust you and feel safe around you. Others are drawn to this Godlike state of being.
Are you a person who keeps their commitments to the end? Being loyal, steadfast, and stable in all your commitments should be a given. Without faith it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6)
Do you keep your strength under control and maintain a balance of being tough and tender? Strive to remain even-tempered and deal with people with a gentle word or deed rather than lose your temper.
Are you disciplined to make the right choices and move toward your goals? Self-control is vital since your flesh is at war against your spirit. Self-control must be operating in your life in order to have victory over negative devices.
In truth, there is no limit to what you can do with these powerful qualities at work in your life. Life is a growth process and we all have room for improvement. Regular evaluation of these nine qualities will help guide you.
The bottom line is this: God has provided these qualities to us through His Spirit so that we can transform our lives and reflect His image. Draw on the life transforming power God has provided and let these divine qualities be evident in your life. Choose to mature spiritually as a vital part of your personal growth.
May you mature spiritually and continue to have a life of growing prosperity!
God bless you –
