Happiness – How Can a Healthy Lifestyle Make You Happy?

How to Cheer Things Up with Healthy Lifestyle Choices!

happy_healthy_choices

I don’t know a thing about you …

but I bet you desire happiness in life.

Having a bright, cheerful life is an achievable goal for everyone.

However, that being said, it is not easy to achieve for everyone …

For some people it requires a little extra work to get life into balance.

Happiness is a Battle for Many

There are unfortunately, many that battle stress, anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. Others are scarred by trials in life. And add to this a lack of sleep, poor nutrition, an unhealthy diet, and virtually no exercise and it becomes quite obvious why there is no smiling going on in this group of people.

If you fall into the previously mentioned group, you’ll be ‘happy’ to know there is help to cheer things up.

Healthy Lifestyle Choices are a Must

Living a healthy lifestyle goes hand-in-hand with your level of happiness in life. Your physical health affects not only your personal self-image, but also your mental health. And your spiritual condition directs many of the decisions you make in regards to priority and balance in your life.

Resources are around every corner when it comes to learning about diet, fitness, nutrition, and building a positive self-image. These things all impact how you feel. Study up on the areas you are weak in and take steps to improve. Keeping them in balance is key to a happier you.

The state of your physical health, mental and emotional health, and spiritual health all work together. Making healthy choices creates a positive cycle so that as you become happier you are also encouraged to make healthier choices.

Consider Your Spiritual Condition

God created us to be happy people that are filled with a joy and love for life. With God we can be more than just happy but find true joy. Choosing to focus on all the good God has provided in our lives can help overcome a sense of unhappiness. There is no greater help to rise above negative circumstances, than the help that comes from God.

“You will show me the path of life: in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
– Psalm 16:11

Your next step? To take what you’ve just learned and start making healthy lifestyle choices in your life. Step-by-step begin to replace the negatives with the positives. Work to keep things in balance and you’ll find it much easier to be a happy person. Seek God and ask for help and enjoy a life full of laughter and happiness.

May your life be balanced, happy, and full of growing prosperity!

God bless you –
Cheers,

(Source: American Psychiatric Association. Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition, Text Revision (DSM-IV-TR) 2000 Washington, DC.)

…then you’ve experienced firsthand some of the possible symptoms of a panic or anxiety attack. If you are reading this page because a loved one suffers from these symptoms and you are trying to understand or help, it’s hard to appreciate what they go through.

Just try to imagine what it feels like to experience one, if you can.

Here is a typical example:

Standing in a supermarket queue, it’s been a long wait but only one customer to go before you make it to the cashier. Wait, what was that sensation? An unpleasant feeling forms in your throat, your chest feels tighter, now a sudden shortness of breath, and what do you know—your heart skips a beat. “Please, God, not here.”

A quick scan of the territory—is it threatening? Four unfriendly faces queue behind, one person in front. Pins and needles seem to prick you through your left arm, you feel slightly dizzy, and then the explosion of fear as you dread the worst. You are about to have a panic attack.

There is no doubt in your mind now that this is going to be a big one. Okay, focus: Remember what you have been taught, and it is time now to apply the coping techniques. Begin the deep breathing exercise your doctor recommended. In through the nose, out through the mouth.

Think relaxing thoughts, and again, while breathing in, think “Relax,” and then breathe out. But it doesn’t seem to be having any positive effect; in fact, just concentrating on breathing is making you feel self-conscious and more uptight.

Okay, coping technique 2:

Gradual muscle relaxation. Tense both shoulders, hold for 10 seconds, then release. Try it again. No; still no difference. The anxiety is getting worse and the very fact that you are out of coping techniques worsens your panic. If only you were surrounded by your family, or a close friend were beside you so you could feel more confident in dealing with this situation.

Now, the adrenaline is really pumping through your system, your body is tingling with uncomfortable sensations, and now the dreaded feeling of losing complete control engulfs your emotions. No one around you has any idea of the sheer terror you are experiencing. For them, it’s just a regular day and another frustratingly slow queue in the supermarket.

You are out of options. Time for Plan C.

The most basic coping skill of all is “fleeing.” Excuse yourself from the queue; you are slightly embarrassed as it is now that it is your turn to pay. The cashier is looking bewildered as you leave your shopping behind and stroll towards the door. There is no time for excuses—you need to be alone. You leave the supermarket and get into your car to ride it out alone. Could this be the big one? The one you fear will push you over the edge mentally and physically. Ten minutes later the panic subsides.

It’s 10:30 a.m. How are you going to make it through the rest of the day?

If you suffer from panic or anxiety attacks, the above scenerio probably sounds very familiar. It may have even induced feelings of anxiety and panic just reading it. The particular situations that trigger your panic and anxiety may differ; maybe the bodily sensations are a little different. Or maybe it happened to you for the first time on a plane, in the dentist chair, or even at home, while doing nothing in particular.

If you have ever had what has become known as a “panic attack,” take comfort in the fact that you are by no means alone.

A panic attack always comes with the acute sense of impending doom. You feel you are either about to lose your mind or one of your vital bodily functions is about to cease functioning and you will end your days right there among the canned goods and frozen food.

You are by no means alone; you’re not even one in a million. In America, it is estimated that almost 5% of the population suffer from some form of anxiety disorder. For some, it may be the infrequent panic attacks that only crop up in particular situations-like when having to speak in front of others, while, for other people, it can be so frequent and recurring that it inhibits them from leaving their home. Frequent panic attacks often develop into what medical physicians refer to as an “anxiety disorder.”

One of the first steps to regaining control of your life is getting helpful information. This site will give you that, and more.

The beginning of your recovery starts here. What you will learn is that there is a very good chance you are about to end the cycle of panic attacks in your life. You will learn not only to regain the carefree life you remember once having, but will also gain new confidence in living. Your answer to living free from “panic” or “anxiety attacks” is at hand.

This site demonstrates that the panic and anxiety that you have experienced will be the very key to your courage and success.

Begin the road to recovery by browsing through the site. While many of you may have read almost everything you can possibly read relating to panic and anxiety I assure you this site offers something very effective.

Did you know…?

The key difference between someone who is cured of panic attacks and those who are not is really very simple. The people who are cured no longer fear panic attacks. I’ll try to show you how to be one of these people as well.

Panic Away by Joe BarryWhat if I told you the trick to ending panic and anxiety attacks is to want to have one. That sounds strange, even contradictory, but let me explain.

The trick to panic attacks is wanting to have one-the wanting pushes it away. Can you have a panic attack in this very second? No!

You know the saying that “what you resist, persists.” Well that saying applies perfectly to fear. If you resist a situation out of fear, the fear around that issue will persist. How do you stop resisting–you move directly into it, into the path of the anxiety, and by doing so it cannot persist.

In essence what this means is that if you daily voluntarily seek to have a panic attack, you cannot have one. Try in this very moment to have a panic attack and I will guarantee you cannot. You may not realize it but you have always decided to panic. You make the choice by saying this is beyond my control.

Another way to appreciate this is to imagine having a panic attack as like standing on a cliff’s edge. The anxiety seemingly pushes you closer to falling over the edge.

To be rid of the fear you must metaphorically jump. You must jump off the cliff edge and into the anxiety and fear and all the things that you fear most.

How do you jump? You jump by wanting to have a panic attack. You go about your day asking for anxiety and panic attacks to appear.

Your real safety is the fact that a panic attack will never harm you. That is medical fact. You are safe, the sensations are wild but no harm will come to you. Your heart is racing but no harm will come to you. The jump becomes nothing more than a two foot drop! Perfectly safe.

How On Earth Do You Stand Steadfast When Your World is Crashing In?

How On Earth Do You Stand Steadfast When Your World is Crashing In?

Discover strength to make it through your storm stronger than you started!

You can overcome the storms of lifeWithin the last week I’ve had a number friends and family share with me that they are hanging on by a thread and going through some very difficult trials. Some lost loved ones, another has a family member with a terminal cancer diagnosis, and also another is struggling mentally with panic attacks and anxiety.

It just so happens that last night at mid week service, my pastor shared a very encouraging message on standing steadfast during trials. So I thought I would try to summarize and share as encouragement…

For starters, he pointed out that there are some things that will never be developed in us without going through the struggles of life. After the storm, you will know and be able to say … ‘if it hadn’t been for the Lord’.  Your confidence and trust in the Lord will increase and you’ll know it wasn’t your own doing that brought you through.

No doubt about it, when there’s a knock on the door at the midnight hour you need more than your own strength or theory of who God is. You need God – with no trepidation and fear. You need to KNOW God. And you need to know God did not bring you this far to leave you now. God is your very present help in time of trouble.

Bear in mind also, if your heart is still beating you are a target for the devil. But what the devil meant for bad, God can turn to good! God’s grace is sufficient for you during your trials.

Like my pastor often says, ‘Life is life for everyone’.

In 1 Peter 4:12 it tells you not to think it strange concerning the fiery trial as though some strange thing happened to you, but rejoice. James 1:2 says to count it all joy (throw a party my pastor likes to say) when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

Some key references to help you through the storm:

Temptation is common, but God is faithful and will provide a way of escape.  (1 Corinthians 10:13)
Many are the afflictions of the righteous but God delivers them out of them all. (Psalm 34:19)
The waters will not overflow us and the fire will not burn us because the Lord is our God and He is with us. (Isaiah 43:2-3)
When I am weak, then I am strong through Him. (2 Corinthians 12:10)
Cast All your cares upon Him, for He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)

Are you with me? You must remember that you are not staying in the trial, but going through. To overcome your trials the word of God must abide in you.  We are told in 1 Peter 5:9 to resist the devil steadfast in our faith (get more scripture happy). Standing steadfast is speaking only what the word of God says.

It’s no secret that, many of our struggles are attacks from the enemy. But we have help to overcome. The sword of the spirit is the spoken word of God and an offensive weapon. We have the ability to speak and chose our words, so chose them wisely. Imitate Jesus when He was tempted and say ‘it is written’, ‘it is written’, ‘it is written’ and speak what is written in the word of God over your situation.

Don’t abandon ship during the storm, because we are told in 1 Peter 5:10 that after we have suffered a while, the God of all grace, who has called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, will make us perfect, established, strengthened, and settled. God’s grace is sufficient to bring us through the storm better developed than ever before.

May God strengthen and develop you as you overcome trials through your faith in Him!

God bless you,
Brenda

How to Prosper by Overcoming Anxiety with Abundant Favor!

How to Prosper by Overcoming Anxiety with Abundant Favor!

God Gives an Abundance of Favor for Your Confidence to Prosper

Our minds often get conditioned to accept a low level of confidence because of past experiences we’ve had as far back as our childhood. The stresses, pressures and daily attacks on our minds can have us living in fear, anxiety and depression. However, that does not have to be the case.

God’s love and favor heals insecurities and anxieties!

Begin to realize the divine favor you have with God and man and learn how to put it to work in your life. God’s blessing of favor flowing in your life is not based on your background, talents, or anything you have learned.  Ephesians 6:24 says that grace is with all those that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Grace means favor you do not deserve.

Start the favor of God flowing in your life by daily confessing what God promises. Then you will see yourself walking in His favor in every area of your life. Speak words of favor over and over during the day until your spirit is revived.  When the truth of God’s love and favor get planted into your spirit, it will replace the insecurities and anxieties you have.

Many people confess doubt and failure over and over during their lifetime until their spirit is depressed and broken. Do not be one of those people! Within just a few days you can experience a very dramatic change with God’s abundant favor.

Get started right now with these confessions on favor and confidence:

I am blessed with God’s grace. God pours out on me a river of favor with God and with those around me.

You, Lord bless me with favor and You surround me as with a shield. (Psalm 5:12)

I have the mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16)

The Greater One lives in me. Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)

I am being filled with God’s fullness. I am being rooted and grounded in love. God is doing exceeding and abundantly above all that I ask or think. His mighty power is taking over in me. (Eph. 3:17-20)

I grow strong in spirit, filled with wisdom, and the grace and favor of God is upon me. (Luke 2:40)

The truth of God’s Word makes me free. (John 8:32)

Thank You, Lord, that I have favor with You and man and people go out of their way to bless me and do good to me today.

Favor flows by standing on the living Word of God in faith.  Reject the negative things you have been feeding into your mind. Accept only what the Lord has told you. Repeat the above confessions until doubt disappears.

Learn to walk in God’s favor. It is for you today. Speak favor. Live favor. Be prosperous. Live life expecting something great to happen daily and it will. Remember, with God nothing is impossible. Let His truth take root in you. Favor is God’s promise to every believer from His Word. All you have to do is receive it and prosper.

Enjoy growing prosperity as the favor of God flows in your life!

God bless you,
Brenda
